Kiwi-Strawberry Fruit Chews

A DIY version of your favorite fruit roll-ups, minus the preservatives and high-fructose corn syrup.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Chill time: 5+ hours
Servings: 6-8

Kitchen equipment you’ll need: food processor or high-speed blender, mesh strainer, dehydrator

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups strawberries, halved

  • 1 cup kiwis, skinned and halved

  • Coconut sugar, to taste

  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. (This may need to be done in batches, depending on the size of your machine.)

Pour the mixture through a mesh strainer to remove the seeds. You may choose to add back in ¼ to ⅓ of the seeds for extra texture and fiber.

Cut sheets of parchment paper to fit your dehydrator trays. Use a spatula to spread the mixture in thin, even layers on the parchment paper. Dehydrate at 125F for 5-6 hours or until the mixture is leathery and chewy.

Use a pizza cutter to slice leather into 3” strips. Roll into “roll-ups” if desired.
